2025 Drag Queen Visibility Day
ASBURY PARK, N.J. [May 7th, 2025] — Paradise Nightclub and Bar brought glam, heart, and resilience to the spotlight during the celebration of the 3rd Annual Drag Queen Visibility Day.
The day's festivities included a drag car wash, a family-friendly drag queen story time hosted by Jolina Jasmine, Drag Zumba class with Victoria Courtez, a march led by Dezi Moonshine on the boardwalk to increase visibility and an evening of drag performances.
However, the highlight of the evening was a heartfelt ceremony honoring Crystal Envy, a local drag performer known for her appearances on RuPaul's Drag Race and her significant contributions to the New Jersey drag scene as Miss Paradise 2022.
Margaret Josephs, known as a fashion designer, entrepreneur, tv personality and devoted ally of the LGBTQ+ community, presented Envy with a proclamation from the city, recognizing her impact and dedication to fostering inclusivity and acceptance. In the moments following, Josephs was also recognized with the 2025 Friend of Paradise award for her immense support of the community.
The event also featured performances by former Miss Paradise winners and other local drag artists. The night concluded with a drag queen rendition of the Hot Ones challenge hosted by E. Licks Her. Proceeds from the event benefited the Transgender Law Center, underscoring the day's commitment to advocacy and support for transgender rights.
